Keep close to Nature’s heart…and break clear away, once in awhile and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. ” John Muir
I took a spur of the moment trip to visit my daughter in North Carolina, using a free airline ticket! After living together for a year, I was really missing her. One of the blessings of everything she endured, is we became really close friends. It was lovely to visit, to see how she is creating a beautiful new life for herself, and now to be back home again.
We took a trip to Hanging Rock state park and climbed a mountain. It seemed like the longest 1.3 mile trail ever, mostly straight up, but well worth it! It seems very symbolic. The last two years have been a hard journey, but we made it and now we can celebrate. Thank you God.
These mountain stairs went up for a long ways, and became steeper. I had to stop and catch my breath many times. Hmm, a lot like life. Take time to rest and breathe.
The early morning mist made the forest look enchanted. Very soothing for the soul.
Views at the mountain top. So glorious.
Little Hank is a good hiking dog, even though he is small. He loved it up there.
When you reach the top of a mountain, first rest…
Then…CELEBRATE! ( that is my beautiful daughter).
Afterwards we relaxed by a waterfall.
Now I am grateful to be back home again. The visit made my mama heart feel good…lighter, less worries, more trusting of the journey. We did it! We climbed a mountain!
Have a wonderful weekend filled with times to rest, celebrate or both.
Many blessings, Nancy

Such pretty views, thank you for sharing!
Hi Meg.You are so welcome!Glad you enjoyed the views.Blessings, Nancy
Beautiful scenery. I bet you were out of breath as much by the scenery as the climb. It sounds like you and you daughter have a wonderful relationship. I am getting tears in my eyes.
Spending time like that with our daughters is priceless. I share those “mama” feelings with you. And your photos are beautiful, once again
